14 institutions that cater for People Living with Disabilities (PLWD) are being provided with connectivity and assistive technologies in line with the principle of ICT inclusion.
Prior to the implementation, a study was conducted to assess the state of the institutions, identify their ICT needs, and propose solutions to address the needs.
Consequently, the facilities being deployed comprise computers, server system, server and e-learning softwares, printer, and laboratory furnishing for all the institutions.
In addition to the above, assistive technologies for sight, hearing, mobility, and cognition disabilities are deployed based on the peculiar needs of each institution.
Once the facilities are deployed, instructors/teachers and persons with disabilities are trained.
