A total of 396 public secondary schools are being provided with computers and connectivity under the School Knowledge Centre (SKC) project. This phase of the project is to deliver two models that have been designed to address the peculiarities of the beneficiary schools with a view to ensuring that their respective ICT needs are moderately resolved.
Type A: secondary schools in this category are in urban areas but are unserved. They are being provided with power supply backup, connectivity, desktop computers plus accessories to facilitate e-learning and teaching.
Type B: This SKC type is for public secondary schools located in semi-urban areas. The schools are being provided with ICT building, power supply back-up, connectivity, suitable desktop computers and peripherals.
For all the SKC types, teachers and students are trained on how to use ICT for teaching and learning. This is backed up with one year technical support, warranty and remote management for the deployed ICT tools and connectivity.
